Biography

Wang Chen works in the Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Shanghai Ninth People's Hospital. He holds a Ph.D., is a Chief Physician, and is a Master's supervisor. He was selected for the Fifth Outstanding Young Backbone Talents Program of Shanghai Ninth People's Hospital and as an Outstanding Young Teacher of Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine. He has independently led 6 research projects, including those funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, and has participated in research on multiple projects, including the 973 Program, the 863 Program, the General Program of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, and the Shanghai Outstanding Academic Leaders Program. He has published more than ten SCI papers in journals including Biomaterials, Tissue Engineering, and The American Journal of Surgery, some of which were published as feature articles, and has contributed to the compilation of 2 monographs.

Clinical expertise: reconstruction of neck scar contracture deformity and hand deformity after various burns/scalds; pediatric plastic surgery (congenital cleft lip and palate and secondary lip and nasal deformities, pediatric superficial tumors, ptosis, breast developmental deformities, etc.); various types of crooked nose deformity; repair and reconstruction of nasal defects; breast plastic surgery; repair and reconstruction of complex chest and abdominal wall defects; minimally invasive double eyelid surgery; comprehensive rhinoplasty; botulinum toxin injection; hyaluronic acid-based micro-plastic procedures; lower eyelid bag correction; and liposuction and body contouring.
